The proliferation of Chiefly titles is quite funny, but I'm more amused by there adoption by people without any staff. "Chief xxx Officer" suggests that there are subordinate "xxx officers".

And as is implied if one is correctly reading between the lines, a major problem with corporate America is the fact that we have way to many chiefs and way to few Indians. It's interesting to me that with all of these titles and all of the responsibility they imply that they never seem to be involved in the decison making process, and it is always some new excuse when results are poor.
